ShutterJam was created out of a necessity to solve real-world problems, but the origin of the platform was more the result of chance than anything else.

Continue on to learn about the journey that brought us to where we are today.

Our story started some time ago in Vancouver, Canada...
The photography department at Langara College was growing increasingly frustrated trying to manage the scheduling and logistics of their equipment and studio spaces. The head of the department, Eric Stewart, didn't know what he was going to do.
Dan Arc, a local entrepreneur and technologist, was one day unexpectedly introduced to Eric Stewart. The two quickly got to talking and shortly after, the idea of ShutterJam was born.
Little more than a year after their first meeting, Dan returned to Eric with the first version of ShutterJam. The faculty and students loved it, but Dan could only see the unexplored potential that still remained: ShutterJam could become the standard in equipment and space management.
Over the following years new versions of ShutterJam were released to the photography department. With each release came feedback which guided the next update. This iteration allowed ShutterJam to mature, and ensured that it continued to solve real-world problems.
Today, ShutterJam is providing organizations across North America with a unified platform that simplifies how they connect with their equipment and spaces.
